![]() He says, ‘no, they are fine!’ (Are you f* kidding me, I’m 5’10” and I have 155’s). Then I got called to get my rentals, by the time I got back to finish out my 6 year olds rentals, they handed me her skis! They were 120s! I asked, “is it possible to get shorter skis for her, these are way too long, this is only her 3rd time skiing (1st time without group lessons). I replied, “yes they are, can we please get the next size up.” Big sigh under his breathe and we got the right size. Went up to the counter and told the rude gentleman that they were too small, he immediately says ‘no they’re not’. Got called for my 6 year olds boots and helped her get them on, buckled them and had her bend her knees, she said her toes still touched. ![]() :(ĭecided to get ski rentals at Wolf Creek and staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Other than that experience with him everything was wonderful and we’ll return but that one person sure make you feel awful. I would have understood if there was a line of people waiting for his abrupt, rude and rushing behavior to just go and figure it out for myself but just some customer service or even just a bit of graciousness and hospitality He yelled at me that he couldn’t help me. When I started engage with him one more time to ask which of the 2 lines because they were both long and wanted to be in the right one I began to ask one more time to get clarification on which counter he was referring to because he pointed at the end of his counter but he had already made it clear that his was photography and I could clearly see that there were two more counters and he didn’t mean to be pointing at his He said I don’t deal with that I just do the photography counter. I spoke up and he said lady just go to the end of the counter and pointed. I walked in and immediately just asked the first person that I sawĪnd after asking him about the lost and found he yelled at me and said he couldn’t hear me and to speak up I did lose or misplace my ski helmet and the following day I came in and asked where I could find itīut they told me at Prospector that something like a ski helmet would be in the ski rental shop lost and found We were so pleased with every aspect of our visit. The staff was all great from the ski lift operators to the restaurant cashiers but there’s always that one person that kind of ruins it But the back country lifts don’t! (Bonus for the blue and black run skiers). Probably cuz most of the greens are there. Only issue: on wkds the lifts near the lodge can get backed up some. This place the snow was better, softer and more plentiful. We drove all the way down from Denver after skiing a day in summit county. Stay half hour to hour away in Pagosa springs, Alamosa, or further in Durango. While no lodging at the place, get over it, cuz of the skiing. It’s not a fancy resort, but a ‘skiers place’. Yet this place is modest and ‘affordable’ for skiing, with $80 weekday lift tix and $90 wkd tix.Ĭan ski here for two days for the price of one in summit county. Plenty of terrain for a couple days of skiing, and while we didn’t have a powder day, this place would be spectacular on a powder day with so much space in the trees. Alberta lift is awesome for getting out in solitude on the mountain and skiing through trees and moguls and trails on the way down. Definitely recommend Wolf Creek to any family looking for a place to go! It was perfect for us beginners but they had so many trails and lifts we could have done.Īs avid skiers, we look for fun terrain and good, plentiful snow.įor 20-21, snow is in short supply. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and we will never forget their kindness. Thanks to these fine folks my children had an awesome day and walked away knowing how to ski and wanting to do it again. Even one of the lift operators Ernesto, jumped in and helped and rode with one of the kids that was afraid to ride the lift alone. ![]() ![]() They were both soooo patient and graceful with the kids. Soon, his fellow instructor be Kathy came to our rescue too and helped with the kids. He helped get our 11 year old up on the lift and then the 8 year old down the hill the first time. Not long after we had been standing next to the beginners lift an instructor, Josh, who was there helping, even though they aren't doing lesson right now thanks to COVID-19, came to our aid. My wife was the only one of the six of us that had ever skiied so it took us a little while to adjust to even standing on the skis. We rented skis for me, my wife and 4 children at Pagosa Ski Rentals (very reasonable and so nice) and took off to Wolf Creek. We made the trek down yesterday after flying into Denver and it has been worth it. I can't say enough good things about the folks we met today at Wolf Creek Ski Resort.
